এক দুপুরে আমার স্ত্রী ও আমি রমনা পার্কের পাশ দিয়ে মিন্টো রোডের দিকে যাচ্ছিলাম। হঠাৎ দেখি পার্কের পাশের ফুটপাত দিয়ে ছাতা মাথায় হেঁটে উত্তর দিকে যাচ্ছেন খোন্দকার দেলোয়ার হোসেন। খুবই বিস্মিত হলাম তাঁর সাহস দেখে। এ রকম অশান্ত ও বৈরী পরিবেশের মধ্যে তিনি একা নিরিবিলি এলাকা দিয়ে যাচ্ছেন। যদি তাঁর ওপর হামলা হয়? প্রায় ছুটে গিয়ে তাঁকে ধরলাম। হাঁটতে হাঁটতেই বললেন যে দু-চারজন সিনিয়র মন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আলোচনা করতে হেয়ার রোডে যাচ্ছেন। বললেন, 'এভাবে চলতে তো দেওয়া যায় না। সমস্যা নিরসনের পথ একটা বের করতেই হবে।' আমি তখন তাঁকে অধ্যাপক আনিসুজ্জামানের প্রস্তাবটি বলে এ রকম কিছু করা যায় কি না জিজ্ঞেস করলাম। Read More

Khandaker Delwar Hossain gave this interview minutes before being taken into the Intensive Care Unit at Square Hospital, Dhaka on 3 March, 2011. He was flown to Singapore the next day to admit to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where he died on 16 March, 2011. So it's the final interview the BNP general secretary gave to any media.

Senior politician and BNP general secretary Khandaker Delwar Hossain has died. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Elaihi Raziwun. It was told to the newsmen by BNP quoting his son Khandaker Abdul Hamid that the ailing general secretary breathed his last at around 3 pm at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. He was 80.
